VOICE TRAINING ~ Building Confidence

We all have the right to speak, but many of us don’t have the confidence to do so. We wish for the ease and enjoyment that so many others seem to have when they communicate.

Self-confidence refers to our sense that we can do things successfully and reach a particular standard or expectation that we have of ourselves. A good self-esteem – the overall opinion we have of ourselves - can boost our confidence, but ultimately, confidence is increased when we acquire skills.

At Accents we aim to build and develop people’s confidence by providing them with essential communication skills. Effective communicators are in high demand in business today. Companies want to employ people who can communicate effectively, persuade clients and influence staff.

There is a shortage of people who can do this. You can fill that gap.

What about the issue of FEAR?

When we lack confidence, we hold back on our communication and input because of fear:

The Man in the Glass

When you get what you want in your struggle for self.
And the world makes you king for a day,
Just go to a mirror and look at yourself,
And see what that man has to say

For it isn’t your father, or mother or wife,
Whose judgement upon you must pass,
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life;
Is the one staring back from the glass.

He’s the fellow to please, never mind all the rest,
For he’s with you right up to the end,
And you’ve passed your most dangerous difficult test,
If the man in the glass is your friend.

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartache and tears,
If you’ve cheated the man in the glass.
